If you have multiple I2C devices with the same address, this module will allow you to connect up to 8 devices on the same SDA/SCL pins.
The multiplexer itself is on address 0x70 (which can also be adjusted from 0x70 to 0x77). You write a single byte with the desired multiplexed output number to that port and boom, any future I2C packets will get directed to that port.
These modules can also be daisy-chained together to have up to 8 modules, enabling you to have up to 64 I2C modules!
How do I control the TCA9548A?
It's surprisingly easy. Over I2C, you tell the device which port you want to talk to, for example port 3. After that, whatever I2C traffic happens gets sent to port 3. By switching back and forth between ports, it's easy to talk to multiple devices that have the same address!
What kind of voltages does the TCA9548A use? The TCA9548A is made by TI and can operate from 1.65 to 5.5V.
